The Electric Blue Ram is a stunning variety of the German Blue Ram, admired for its shimmering metallic blue coloration and distinctive orange marking on the top of its head.

This small South American cichlid rarely grows beyond 2 inches and has remained popular among aquarium enthusiasts for its vibrant colors and ease of breeding. Fine sand substrate is recommended, as these fish naturally sift through the sand while feeding.

Electric Blue Rams thrive in warm water, ideally between 80°F and 84°F, and benefit from a varied diet that includes small live foods to support health and breeding.

During spawning, pairs select caves or flat surfaces to lay and protect their eggs, showing fascinating parental behavior as they care for their fry until they become free-swimming.
